Julia is currently completing the second year of Masters at the School of Public Policy at Simon Fraser University. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Toronto, where courses focusing on the intersection between law and mental health sparked her interest in working for the Longitudinal Study of Serious Young Offenders. Julia spent her summer in 2016 as co-op as a policy analyst for Global Affairs within the Mission Security Bureau which conducted risk assessments for Canada’s missions abroad. She sits on the Human Rights Policy Board and is deeply interested in human rights. Her research interests, framed through a policy lens, include violence risk assessment and management, treatment services and reintegration, and the disproportionate representation of ethnic minorities the justice system.
